Getting started

How do I sign up?

Open the app, choose your country, then register. Sign-up uses your email and a password, or Google. Pick job seeker or employer and follow the guided setup.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen tap "Forgot Password?", enter your email, then enter the code we email you and set a new password. You can also choose "Use email code" to sign in with a code.

Which phones does the app work on?

Android 6.0 or newer. The APK is about 84 MB. There is no iPhone version yet and no release date.

What language is the app in?

The app is in English only for now. This website is available in English, Swahili and Chinese.

Is JobPesa free?

Free for job seekers. For employers it is free during the testing period; paid employer plans will follow and will be announced on this website.

Jobs and applying

How do I apply for a job?

Upload a resume in your profile first (PDF or Word, up to 10 MB). Then open a job, tap Apply, choose your resume, add an optional cover letter and submit. You can apply to each job once.

How do I follow my application?

Open Applications and tap one to see its timeline. You'll get a notification when you're shortlisted, invited to interview, offered the job, or not selected.

How do I find jobs near me?

Go to Jobs, then Nearby. Pick a spot on the map and set a radius from 5 to 100 km.

Chat and safety

Can I message an employer before I apply?

Yes. On a job page tap Contact to message the employer who posted the job, before you apply or after. Read receipts show when your message has been seen. Your phone number or resume is only shared when you confirm.

How do I report a suspicious job?

Open the job, tap the menu at the top right, choose Report Job, pick a reason, add details or a screenshot and submit. Our team reviews reports manually. A single report does not remove a job automatically.

An "employer" asks me to pay first. What should I do?

Don't pay. Employers should not charge you to apply or to get a job. Report the job with the reason "Asking for money or personal fees" and contact us.

Employers

How do I post a job?

Tap Post Job on your dashboard and complete the 5 steps: basics, details, skills and pay, location, preview. You can save a draft. Later you can pause, close, reopen or duplicate a job. Posting does not require company verification.

How does company verification work?

Open your company profile, go to the Verification tab, upload business documents (PDF, JPG or PNG) and submit. Our team reviews them. Verified employers get a Verified badge on their jobs and company page.

Account and privacy

How do I contact support?

In the app go to Profile, Help and Support, Contact Support. The channels you see depend on your country. You can also email wejobpesa@gmail.com.

How do I delete my account?

In the app go to Settings, Account, Delete Account and follow the steps. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. Company owners must first deal with team members. If you cannot sign in, see the delete-account page.

Stay safe when looking for work

Job scams exist on every platform. These are general tips from JobPesa to help you spot them. They are advice only and do not vouch for any job or employer.

Do

  • Ask questions in the in-app chat before you share personal details.
  • Look for the Verified badge; it means the company's business documents were reviewed by our team. It is optional, so a job without it is not automatically fake.
  • Share your phone number or resume only when you are comfortable; in chat the request is sent only after you confirm.
  • Tell someone you trust before going to an interview, and meet in a public place.
  • Report a job that looks wrong.

Don't

  • Don't pay any fee to apply, to be "registered" or to secure a job offer.
  • Don't share your password or sign-in code with anyone.
  • Don't trust offers that sound too good to be true or push you to decide right now.
  • Don't accept a job offer from someone who never asked you a single question about your skills.

How to report a job

  1. Open the job.
  2. Tap the menu at the top right and choose Report Job.
  3. Pick a reason: fake or misleading, scam or pyramid scheme, expired or already filled, discriminatory requirements, asking for money or personal fees, or other.
  4. Add details and, if you can, a screenshot.
  5. Submit. Our team reviews reports manually; one report does not remove a job automatically.

If you have already paid or shared sensitive details, stop contacting the person and tell us at wejobpesa@gmail.com. You may also want to inform your local authorities.
